Circa’s Creation Fund invests over $500,000 in making new Circa productions every year.
These productions will tour the world – taking unique works of contemporary circus from our studio in Brisbane to countries far and wide; stirring hearts, transforming perceptions and engaging communities. Our works are heralded as ‘a revolution in the spectacle of circus’ (Les Echos).
And each starts here, in Brisbane, with artists and an idea.
Making them is challenging. Each new creation needs months in the studio. It requires a creative team to develop the look, sound, feel of each show. It needs costumes, set and specialist acrobatic equipment.
Circa’s Creation Fund makes this possible. It enables our world-renowned ensemble to have the time we need to fearlessly explore new ideas. It supports us to have extraordinary creative collaborators and the production elements needed to shine on the world’s stages.
Creating these new works is what drives us every day. Each year we tackle big ideas and grand themes; using our imaginations, talents and skills to try and create moments of arresting beauty and unalloyed power. Our Creation Fund is the key to making our new shows possible and we’d love you to start something new with us.
