What is CIRCASE?
Circa’s end of year showcase for Training Centre participants ‘CIRCASE’ is a chance for all participants to show off the skills they have learnt and provides them with an opportunity to perform in front of friends and family under the theatre lights.
This year’s performance will be staged at the Judith Wright Centre Theatre (level 2, downstairs from the Fortitude Valley Training Studio) on Saturday December 17.

Where is Circa’s studio?
We are located at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts, Level 3, 420 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley (cnr. of Berwick Street). Once you enter the building please take the lift up to Level 3 and follow the signs around to the back of the building to the Circa Training Centre.
Where can I park?
Visitors to the Judith Wright Centre can now get $5 flat rate parking with Secure Parking when booking online via Secure-a-Spot at 388 Brunswick Street Car Park (enter via Berwick Street) weekdays from 4pm and all day on weekends. To access this deal patrons MUST book online prior to arriving at the Judith Wright Centre. Click HERE to book online via Secure-a-Spot ahead of time.
There is also metered parking on McLachlan Street or unmetered street parking on Berwick, Robertson or Arthur Streets. The Centre itself does not have a car park. Please allow extra time before class to find a car park. Bike parking is available outside the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts in the Institute of Modern Art Courtyard on the Berwick Street side of the Centre. No bikes are permitted within the Centre.
Can I get public transport?
The closest train station to the Judith Wright Centre is Fortitude Valley Station. We are a four-block walk heading towards the New Farm end of Brunswick Street from this Station. There are also many bus routes that travel Brunswick Street. Bus numbers 199 and 196 will drop your right at the front of our building.

Where do I get the most current information?
All Circa participants (and parents of children in Circa classes) are encouraged to join the online Facebook group as a means of communication between participants, trainers and Circa staff. Within the group you can share photos, videos, feedback and stories from classes to develop a community within the Training Centre. This group will also act as a communication tool to share important upcoming dates, shows in Brisbane, special offers and information on some exciting guest trainers. Circa’s E-newsletter also gets sent out each month to all participants. This will have any information about new classes, holiday workshops and Training Centre news.
Can I pay for my classes week by week?
No, all classes must be paid for in total prior to week one of Term.
What if my circumstances change after I’ve paid for my class/es?
There is a no refund policy on any Circa classes. To ensure we maintain our strict trainer to participant class ratios we are unable to offer make-up classes for any missed during the term. If you let us know before the term commences, it is possible to transfer the money you deposited to the following term at the discretion of the Training Centre Director. To ensure trainer to participant ratios are maintained and the class specific transition of training is maintained we are unable to offer make-up classes for any classes missed during the Term.
Why are there no refunds?
Our Training Centre classes are structured on a term-by-term basis. This allows our Training Centre director to know how many students are in each class, build lesson plans accordingly and engage the most appropriate and correct number of trainers. If participants cannot attend a class, or a number of classes throughout the term, we are unable to re-fill that position as someone attending a term half way through would miss the groundwork and safety lessons required to be at the same level as the rest of the class. Because of this, we ask all participants to commit to the entire term and we are unable to offer any refunds or make-up classes for classes missed. Our policy is centered on the safety and progression of each student, so I do hope you understand this position.
How can I pay?
We accept MasterCard and Visa, Direct Deposit, Cheque, Money Order and Cash. You are able to book for your classes online at circa.org.au.
Alternatively you are welcome to pay by Direct Deposit, for this option please follow the instructions included on your invoice. You can also give us a call on (07) 3852 3110 during normal business hours.
Do you accept late bookings?
Depending on the number of participants in a class, it is possible to book into a class to start in the second week of term however full payment for the term is necessary.
Are there any prerequisites for the class?
If you are new to Circus we recommend beginning your training by completing either a term of Circa Fit classes or our Aerials, Ground, Strength and Flexibility class however this is not essential. Please note that Aerials Beginners requires a reasonable degree of upper body strength eg. participant is able to hold their own weight with their arms. There are no pre-requisites for our children’s and young people’s classes.
What do I wear and bring?
Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move around in i.e. shorts, track pants, singlet. We ask that you remove all jewellery before class begins. If you are participating in an aerials or adult beginners class we recommend pants that cover the knees and any shirt that covers the midriff or can be tucked in. No shoes are required. Please leave your shoes and bags to the side of the Training Centre.
Please bring a drink bottle with you – we have a kitchenette where you can refill it. A towel is not necessary to use in class, but you may like to bring one. For some of the children’s classes on Saturday, you may like to bring a snack for your child to eat before or after class. Food is not permitted in the Training Centre. Chewing of gum is not permitted during class.
What if I’m late to class?
If you know you are going to be late for a class please phone the Circa office prior to 5pm so we can advise the trainers. If this is not possible, please enter the room quietly, put your bag to the side and take off your shoes. A trainer will join you shortly to instruct you of where they are in the class.
Do you have any casual classes?
Circa holds four terms per year. Each term is a block made up of nine weeks of classes once a week. The only casual classes we offer are our Circa Fit classes ($12 on the door) and our AGSF 5 class pass. You can read ,more about these in our Adult classes page.
Do you offer private classes?

How many participants are in a class?
All classes are subject to a minimum and maximum number of participants, with no class going over 24 participants. You will be notified if there are any changes to your booking. Circa reserves the right to alter details of programs at any stage.
Can parents observe the class?
For all enrolled students (excluding Tiny Tumblers), parents are welcome in the Studio for the first class of term and on allocated open studio days only. The dates of these will be communicated throughout the term. If this causes you concern please speak with our Training Centre Director.
What if I’m running late to pick up my Chiltern?
We recognise that collecting children from school or other activities and getting them to class on time can sometimes be difficult. The safety of our students is of upmost importance to us however we do ask that you are on time to drop off and collect your child(ren).
