THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF WOLFGANG

After a sell-out season at Edinburgh Fringe Festival last year, we are delighted to be returning with our new show for families, Wolfgang’s Magical Musical Circus. From 4 – 25 August, Wolfgang will be performing at Underbelly’s Circus Hub! If you want to know more about this new show, then you’re in the right place – keep reading to find out all about the show, see audience reactions, preview the music and more!

ABOUT THE SHOW
Directed by circus visionary Yaron Lifschitz, Wolfgang’s Magical Musical Circus is a circus adventure with a musical twist. where two acrobats tumble and climb upon each other as they discover a zany world of colour, music and tricks. Musical scores and conductors batons fly through the air, a bike has a near miss with a music stand, chairs are stacked up high and climbed on, and an ever increasing mess is made. All accompanied by the wonderful music of Mozart and re-arranged Quincy Grant and performed by a golden velvet onesie wearing cherub playing an accordion. It’s fun and energetic mayhem that’s perfect for all ages.

WHAT AUDIENCES SAY
We had a special showing in our studio to give audiences a sneak-peek into what we to expect fromWolfgang’s Magical Musical Circus. Watch what some of our youngest audience members had to say about the show below!

THE MUSIC
In Wolfgang, Mozart’s music is boldly rescored by the phenomenal Quincy Grant, a favourite Circa collaborator who has scored many of Circa’s works including stage epic Il Ritorno and family favourite Carnival of the Animals. Well known Mozart melodies are reimagined with a 12 piece orchestra, having been recorded to bring these pieces to life with a cheeky and irrepressibly charming klezmer twist. The music is at the heart of the show, and is interwoven with a live accordionist – take a listen to the piece below and let us know where you might have heard this iconic track before!
