Is the future a place of wonder or devastation?
Circa’s The Future Begins Now brings together a vast cast of eclectic artists and Cairns locals to imagine and enact their visions of the future.
Before the audience’s eyes rises a giant, transparent doughnut that might be a space capsule, a biohazard zone or an incubator for parallel realities.
Inside, sixty performers ranging from acrobats to stilt-walkers and dancers will collide, collapse and ascend in an extraordinary parade of human possibility.
The Future Begins Now will bring Circa creatives together with artists and participants from the Cairns community – sharing skills, stories and experiences to create a journey full of colour and movement, great skills, quirky comedy and all the drama of being human in the future, which starts now.
